Tip #4 - A loan word or loan word plus explanation

This strategy is especially popular when working with culturally unique items and language that is common at a specific period or in a specific setting. The borrowed term adds intrigue and makes it unforgettable.

The phrase "I'm coming through with tabebuia" is translated as "เปิดตัวให้ดูด้วยตาเบบูญ่า" (minute 2:26) in the original.

Tabebuia, also known as the trumpet tree, is a medium-sized to small flowering tree native to the West Indies, as well as South and Central America.

As เหลืองปรีดียาธร is the name of a tree that may not be well-known among the broader population in the target language. Even if เหลืองปรีดียาธร is in the target language, the audience may find the lexicon extremely intimidating.

As a result, the audience is more likely to remember and connect the term with the song's message.
