Tip #7 - Omission

If the meaning provided by a context is not essential for the context's growth or does not warrant boring the reader with lengthy justifications, translators may frequently remove irrelevant and superfluous material.

The phrase "บางทีฉันก็ร้องไห้" appears at minute 2:04 and is translated as "Yeah, but sometimes I cry" in the source language.

Yeah is an informal, spoken word that simply implies yes. Even though yeah can be rendered as ใช่ in its literal form, the translator decided not to translate this word.

As the translation of this term in this context can be omitted without any loss in meaning, and its importance is not vital to how the text evolves in the target text language.
